The Friday 56The Friday 56 is a weekly blog meme hosted by Freda’s Voice. Join in every Friday, the rules are simple.

Rules: *Grab a book, any book. *Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.

*Find any sentence (or a few, just don’t spoil it) that grab you.

*Post it. *Add your (url) post here in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url. It’s that simple.

“‘But what does a Ministry of Magic do?’
‘Well, what their main job is to keep it from the Muggles that there’s still witches an’ wizards up an’ down the country.’
‘Why?’
Why? Blimey, Harry, everyone’d be wantin’ magical solutions to their problems. Nah, we’re best left alone.'”

Still not on any new books yet… just going through my bookshelves and contemplating how long I have to wait before I start in on reading this illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone….

    1. It’s a gorgeous edition. I have the American books, picked up the British editions of the books, too… and then they came out with the 15th anniversary boxed set and I soooooo wanted it, but could not justify it… the illustrated book (so far it’s just the first one) is beautiful, and we could pretend it’s for my daughter… who is ALMOST 2 and a half… eventually…

    1. One of my friend stubbornly refused to engage with the series. She is pretty much the most stubborn person I know, to hold out so long:-) I was always a sucker for these sort of things and lucked out that magic and medieval and fantasy, etc., are popular now.

    1. The first two movies were so slow in comparison to how the books read! The third was my favorite book & movie. It was the last one to tie up the “problem” in one book.
