Friday 56 & Book Beginnings

Another Day (Every Day #2), by David Levithan

Book Beginnings (a la Rose City Reader)

“I watch his car as it pulls into the parking lot. I watch him get out of it. I am in the corner of his eye, moving toward its center… but he isn’t looking for me.”

First Impression: Aw, again, I can’t really claim a first impression as I read every day so recently.

The Friday 56 is a weekly blog meme hosted by Freda’s Voice. Join in every Friday, the rules are simple.

Rules: *Grab a book, any book. *Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.

*Find any sentence (or a few, just don’t spoil it) that grab you.

*Post it. *Add your (url) post here in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url. It’s that simple.

“I loose track. Of time. Of what I’m thinking. Of where I am and who I am. I even lose track of the song. I loose track of everything but the boy in the tie across from me, who is releasing himself as well. I can tell, as one who knows.

Then it all ends. A song is cut short. I feel like a cartoon character, holding for a minute in the air, then looking down and falling to earth.”

  1. I really liked Every Day and it has been very popular in the library. i didn’t know this book was published yet. Thanks for the heads up!

    1. My wife and I both read the first book… she’s already finished this one, and still doesn’t think the story needed to be told from the other perspective. I’m not too far in, but so far, it seems like it would have been more interesting to have read this one first.
