Shutter Snaps: Welcome Home (WPC: On the Way)

This week’s picture was not chosen for photographic quality. Although I am still grieving Kina, I am too aware of all the animals who desperately need homes. Thanks to some animal rescue posters on my feeds, I stumbled across the AC&C’s At Risk List and saw that this guy had twelve hours left if no one came for him… So, of course, he came home with us. This is a picture of “Blue Moon” (what a weird name! I really want to change it, but my daughter is just learning how to talk and loves toddling around and randomly saying “Bloooo Moooooon.”)

The next day, on the subway, I saw the poster below featured as part of their Poetry in Motion, and the poem hit me very hard.

So, here is a picture of Blue Moon, on his way home for the first time. IMG_4413

Heaven, by Patrick Phillips

It will be the past
and we’ll live there together.

Not as it was to live
but as it is remembered.

It will be the past.
We’ll all go back together.

Everyone we ever loved
and lost, and must remember.

It will be the past,
And it will last forever.
