The Friday 56 is a weekly blog meme hosted by Freda’s Voice. Join in every Friday, the rules are simple.
Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.
*Find any sentence (or a few, just don’t spoil it) that grab you.
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post here in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url. It’s that simple.
“She shall have a new dress for the next one, I think, don’t you, Elizabeth?” Jane was moving toward the closet. “Shall we see-”
“Miss, that would be-” Such a delight that she couldn’t even finish her sentence. Maybe the footman would come from Netherfield to the next village dance; maybe he would ask her to dance with him. Mr. Smith might even be obliged to notice her then, dancing with a handsome man, in a new dress, on the village green.

I would love to see a downstairs take on Pride and Prejudice! 🙂
Check out my 56.
So far I’m really enjoying some of the harder realities I hadn’t thought of… Like the servant who had to go by a different name because one of the ladies of the house was named Mary.
I’m reading pride & Prejudice for the umpteenth time right now and just watched the movie again too. I’d love to read this:)

I’m not even on page 56 yet, but it’s fun so far! Maybe, a little bit, to help remind us to romanticize the time a little less…
I don’t think this is for me, but I do appreciate you sharing. I hope you are enjoying it.

I felt a Downton Abbey nature to it. 🙂
Happy weekend!
