“A Little Bit” of Halloween…

Creating the face of a soon-to-be-pumpkin zombie
Creating the face of a soon-to-be-pumpkin zombie

Ever think that the Walking Dead could use some more… pumpkins? I know I think that every week, and apparently, these guys agree. Yesterday I stopped by Grand Central to see the beginnings of the gigantic, pumpkin zombie Ray Villafane and his team are creating for the New York Botanical Garden. By Sunday, the pieces you see them working on here will be assembled to look like that nasty guy in the hand drawn sketch. Ewww, but also, pretty cool. If you can make it to the The New York Botanical Gardens will have their masterpiece on display this weekend, as well as some other pumpkins that are, no offense, but way better than anything you could carve at home.

Happy Halloween planning!

(I suspect we’ll be doing well if we get more than square-and-triangle faces on our orange guys this year!)
